Genevieve Chua, (b. 1984) in Singapore, works primarily with drawing, photography and installation. Her
current research addresses the fear of the unknown. This process involves the appropriation of Southeast
Asian horror towards new narratives.
Selected exhibitions include Singapore Biennale (2011); a solo exhibition at Objectifs, (Singapore 2011); BMW
Young Asian Artist Series at Singapore Tyler Print Institute (2011); As Brutal As: A Drawing Show (Singapore,
2007), Raised as a Pack of Wolves, which was presented by the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival (Singapore,
2009), Full Moon and Foxes, an installation commissioned by National Museum of Singapore as part of the
Singapore Art Show (Singapore, 2009) and CUT 2009: Figure, New Photography from Southeast Asia (Kuala
Lumpur; Singapore 2009).
