ARTIST’S STATEMENT
As an artist I am interested in the role technology plays in contemporary cultural and artistic creation. How do the tools we use (and create ourselves) determine what is being produced by them? Can we use software to ask questions or to formulate a critique? Can we hack, or reconfigure, existing software or systems as a sort of intervention?
My work is primarily conceptually and secondary visually guided. I am interested in systems, which can be physical, biological or social. I believe that software can function as a carrier of meaning, and I am working towards ways this can be more easily read.

Many of my work have a humorous side to it, e.g. when I fly a helium balloon over an island (in: “Im Nebelmeer ueber Plocica”), whose rotating video frames I have to later manually rotate in order to archive something similar to Google Earth. I believe this to be a good way of engaging with the monotony of systems, and our common perceptions about them.
